This page explains what the Sehmat website and the Sehmat console store in your browser. It is part of our Privacy Policy.

1. The short version

  • The Sehmat website (sehmat.com) sets no cookies.
  • It uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools, from us or anyone else.
  • It stores your accessibility preferences in your own browser, and nothing else. They are never sent to us.
  • The Sehmat console, where customer staff sign in, uses only what it needs to sign you in and keep your session secure.

Because the website sets no cookies, it does not show a cookie banner.

2. What cookies and local storage are

A cookie is a small file that a website saves in your browser. The browser sends it back to the website with each visit.

Local storage is a similar feature. A website can save small pieces of information in your browser. Unlike a cookie, local storage is not sent to the website automatically. It stays on your device.

3. The Sehmat website

3.1 Cookies

None. The website does not set cookies, and it does not load scripts from others that set cookies.

3.2 Local storage

Name What it stores Why How long
sehmat-a11y Your choices in the accessibility menu and your read-aloud settings So the site looks and behaves the way you chose on your next visit Until you clear it

This information stays in your browser. It is not sent to us or to anyone else. The read-aloud feature uses your browser’s built-in speech, so the text is not sent to us for reading.

If your browser blocks local storage, for example in a private window, the site still works. Your choices will just not be remembered.

3.3 Server logs

When you visit, your browser asks our hosting provider, Amazon CloudFront, for each page. CloudFront keeps standard access logs for security and operations: your IP address, browser details (user agent), the page requested and the time. These are not cookies and are not used to track you across sites. Our Privacy Policy explains how long we keep them.

3.4 The Contact page

The Contact page does not send anything to us. It only opens your own email app with a message addressed to contact@bluepencil.com. You choose whether to send it.

4. The Sehmat console

The console is the signed-in application used by staff of customer organisations, at prod.in.sehmat.com.

The console uses cookies and browser storage that are strictly necessary for it to work. They:

  • keep you signed in during a session;
  • protect your account and the service from misuse; and
  • remember settings the console needs to work for you.

The console cannot work without them. They are not used for advertising.

Consent forms, My consents and My request use browser storage only to keep you signed in and to remember your language. Nothing is used for advertising or tracking.

An organisation can place a Sehmat cookie banner on its own website. The banner stores the visitor’s choice on that website, in a cookie and in local storage, so it is not asked again. That organisation’s own cookie policy covers it.

5. How to control or clear them

You can see, block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser’s settings. Look for “Cookies and site data” or “Site settings”.

  • On the website, clearing site data resets your accessibility choices.
  • In the console, blocking cookies will stop you from signing in. Clearing them will sign you out.

6. Changes

If we ever add a cookie or a new item of browser storage, we will update this page first. If we ever add anything that is not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent before using it.

7. Contact
